MILWAUKEE ZINE FEST

Hey Guys! Milwaukee Zine Fest is THIS SATURDAY!!!

I will be sharing a table spot with the wonderful Erin Dorbin. Erin and I met over 13 years ago at MCTC. We lost touch over the years and now have reconnected because as big as the world is, it can be small too.

I have never spent much time in Milwaukee. A few times when I was small and Greyhound layovers going to and from Chicago as a young adult. I am excited to make some good memories that I can remember (all I have are vague snapshot memories from childhood visits, and the bus stops later in life were boring/no fun).

Looking forward to seeing a new city and seeing and buying some awesome zines.

THANK YOU CHICAGO

Thank you Chicago and Chicago Zine Fest for a great time! Spent 5 nights in the windy city and had a great time. I collected sea glass, saw a great friend, made new friends, had a fun time at CZF and got to take in the city, and explore some, without feeling rushed.

Thank you everyone who came out to zine fest. It was overwhelming but also wonderful to walk around and look at everything. I only made one round over the day and I feel like I missed quite a bit still. There are some things I wish I had bought... hopefully they will be there next year!

Here is my spread.

We had 4 half tables for one huge mpls line of zines.

I forgot to take a picture from the balcony during the event. Here is part of the space while folks were cleaning up. This picture represents a quarter of the vendors. That is our space in the middle of this picture, you can see my friend (Hi Jillian!) in the orange/red jacket.

THANK YOU ♥ VALENTINES PARTY

♥♥♥♥♥

Thank you to everyone who came out for the valentines party! It was a great evening!

DJ Choral Reefr played some great tunes all night long. Many delicious snacks/treats were eaten. Some art was sold. It was a great time.

Here are some folks hanging out. You can see the glowing pink dog.

More folks hanging out. It was great to see strangers talk to strangers and fun being had.

Here is one wall of art hanging up! We had 9 different contributors and everything went with everything perfectly.

I made some curtains to make the entrance into the room feel extra special for the evening. On those curtains I pinned some large naked angel babies.

Some new art was added by 5 year old Emma. She was feeling shy socially, but was totally down to draw on some poster board hearts.  This is her second time having art up at Caffetto (in our previous show she had an octopus mobile that was beautiful).

We made a selfie/photo backdrop. (thank you Davey!). We used it, and I saw many other people use it who were popping in for coffee drinks.

Here is our lovely DJ (thank you Jessie). The cat and dog glow/pulse along with the music

I also have to thank Ben. You were my hero of the evening. Ben provided a ride both ways, had blank paper for me to take (for the show list, Betsy thank you for your help too!!!), numbered all the pieces in the show, made those pink animals do their magic and every thing else you did that helped make this evening work smoothly and be great. This night wouldn't have been the same without everyone who had heir hands in it. More thank yous to Molly Baeverstad, Sarah Baeverstad, Jen Olsby, Jes Reyes, Cuyler Dinegan, Davey Glow, Carly Wonderman, Brittany Brannan (for insisting on helping clean up - you rule), Cafetto ( thank you Tami and Brent and the barrista working that evening and anyone else who supported us, helped hang stuff and those who came out that cold Saturday. You all are the best.
